The Soundtrack of Social Transformation
We heard over and over again that singing was one of the most dangerous things we could do during the pandemic. Throughout the last few centuries, every major movement of social change has been accompanied by singing. We sing to inspire, to challenge, to encourage, and to propel us forward into a better, more equitable future. So perhaps singing has always been a little bit dangerous? This concert will honor music and movement of protest and social transformation. Concert Partners include Southern Movement Committee, TN Equality Project, TN Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, and Moms Demand Action. Guests artists include Saro Lynch-Thomason, Odessa Settles, and Devon Gilfillian.
